“No Taxation Without Representation”

This has to be one of my favorite statements in all of American history. With all the taxes Parliament put on the colonists like the Stamp Act and the Townshend Act nothing summarizes the colonist’s emotions better than this phrase. It means that since the colonists were not being represented in Parliament, and getting their voices heard, they should not be taxed.
