Remember when we joined Paul Revere on the Midnight Ride of April 18, 1775? The riders were Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Dr. Samuel Prescott, and their job was to warn the colonists that the Redcoats were coming. Dr. Joseph Warren devised this system of warning the countryside of the danger. William Dawes was instructed to travel over the Boston Neck, and Paul Revere to row across the Charles River, in case either was captured. The British wanted to capture ammunition, John Hancock and Samuel Adams, but the surprise was lost due to the Midnight Ride.
