It is not a shopping mall! The National Mall is a long, famous, stretch of land that goes from the U.S. Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial. It is world famous for housing our iconic national monuments and museums. Some of the museums you can visit around the National Mall are the National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution Building, and the National Museum of African Art. The National Mall has also become a famous location for the inauguration of the U.S. President. Besides inaugurations, the National Mall is host to many events, rallies, and recreational activities.

There is a huge fireworks celebration every year for Independence Day at the National Mall.
