House of Lords, c. 1708–14, by Peter Tillemans

House of Lords

This is the upper house of Parliament. It currently has 785 members appointed to their positions. They review Bills created by the House of Commons but cannot prevent a bill from being passed. They are able, however, to delay the action and force the House of Commons to reconsider what is contained in the Bill.
