Fort Ticonderoga

Fort Ticonderoga stands at the south end of Lake Champlain in New York. It was originally built by the French and formally named Fort Carillon. Only a month after the Battles of Lexington and Concord, Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys seized the fort from 48 British soldiers. This made Henry Knox’s plan to take the 60 heavy cannons from the fort possible.
