Edmund Pendleton was born into a poor family in Virginia he later became a planter, politician, lawyer and judge. He was a representative in the Virginia legislature both before and during the American Revolution. He attended the Continental Congress sessions of 1774 and 1775 (which includes the First Continental Congress). Pendleton is also responsible for changing Virginia’s legal code after the colonies separated from Britain. He was a true patriot offering many years of service to his state and country alongside other patriots such as George Washington and Patrick Henry.
